He was awarded theTenniel Cup for runner up at the Political Society's Cartoon of the Year Awards in 2006 and 2008, winner of the United Nations Correspondent's Association Ranan Lurie Political Cartoon Award in 2000, and best cartoonist at the Population Institute Global Award for Media Excellence in 2002.

Swiss-born Peter Schrank spent 20 years as a freelance cartoonist and illustrator in London before moving to the Suffolk coast in 2002. He is the political cartoonist for The Independent on Sunday, Basler Zeitung (Switzerland) and the Sunday Business Post (Ireland). He contributes regularly to The Economist and The Independent.
